IU South Bend’s Information Technology department hosted a Tech Fair on Sept. 13 to help students learn how to save time and money with tech.

Community tech resources including Dell, PlayPosit, Digital Gardener, LT 3D Printing and several others set up at the fair to provide information to interested students. IU South Bend resources also attended, including representatives from One.IU, CrimsonCard, the Wiekamp Educational Resource Commons (WERC), IUanyWare, and more.

Popcorn, drinks, cookies and pizza were offered for those in attendance. Various booths also offered goodies for students to take home.

A fan-favorite booth at the fair was the LT 3D Printing setup, which demonstrated the printing process with the 3D printer in the process. The booth also handed out 3D printed IU keychains.

Students attending the fair received a ticket that could be signed by those managing the different tables. Tickets could then be turned into the entry table where they would receive a 2022 Tech Fair T-shirt.

While the fair brought fun and free items, it also provided information about what resources are offered by each of the programs in attendance.

Students received handouts with information as well as had the opportunity to talk to representatives about what tools are offered by the WERC, where they can use Crimson Cash, and what navigational resources are available on One.IU.

Those who attended but are seeking more information are encouraged to reach out to the desired resource through email, or by visiting their location in person during open hours.
